I am excited to welcome you to a new beginning at Central School Intermediate. As the new principal at Central, I look forward to getting to know both parents and students and working together with all of you to be successful this school year.

We would like to welcome a new teacher to our building, who may be a familiar face for some of you when she worked at Dowds a couple of years ago. Mrs. Katie Getz is joining our STRONG team to provide 5th grade intervention. Mrs. Getz is going to be an excellent addition to our outstanding staff.

I am also a new addition to the building. After teaching freshman and sophomore English at Shelby Senior High School for eight years, I am honored to be the new principal at Central School. I will be learning right along with our students this year as I transition to the intermediate building, but I give you my sincere promise that I will do everything I can to make this year as successful as it can be. I welcome your feedback, suggestions, questions, and concerns as I learn all about our school and our students. Please feel free to e-mail, call, or stop in to see me at any time.

I also encourage you to get involved in our school. We welcome you as volunteers, to be involved in the PTO, and to participate in your child’s education. We look forward to seeing you at Open House on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Central School Gymnasium, as well as at Parent-Teacher Conferences and at our various school activities throughout the year.
